Kali Shirah, a graduate of Northwestern State University, is a Christian writer and mother. She’s held an array of interesting professions over the years, from transcription business owner and job information specialist to hostage negotiator (law enforcement) and instructor. She enjoys sharing her practical “career” knowledge through writing non-fiction books and her love of history through writing inspirational romance books. She occasionally reviews books for her fellow authors for posting at Amazon.

Ms. Shirah ‘moonlighted’ as an independent transcriptionist from 1989-2007. In 1994 she branched out and established her own company, DepoScribe, Inc. In 2002, in response to an overwhelming number of how-to questions, she wrote a short ebooklet to address them all. Four years and three editions later the 24-page ebooklet has grown to a 170+ page book of proven tips and techniques for the budding business owner.

Rat Race Rebellion Contributing ExpertStart Your Own Transcription Business won the distinction of EPPIE Finalist for Best Non-Fiction in 2005. In 2006 Ms. Shirah sold her interest in DepoScribe to concentrate her energies on other ventures. Start Your Own Transcription Business is currently being updated; anticipated publication date of 4th Edition is October 2008.

Always interested in learning and investing, Ms. Shirah is also a real estate agent.
